Hi! I’m Danyelle, a South Carolina native, Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice, and the brains behind Cocoon. I earned my Bachelors of Sociology from Lander University and my Master of Social Work through Winthrop University intervened by a decade of professional endeavors spanning bedside care, auditing, hospice, and therapeutic care with diverse demographics across the life span. 

My pivot into the therapeutic field was birthed by professional and personal exposure to environmentally induced resource scarcity and adversities that confront individuals’ abilities to experience life beyond modes of survival. Recognition of the dimensioned environment as a patterned locus of injustice yet a necessary gateway for sustained restoration catalyzed my desire to draw on the liberating properties of the therapeutic space to generate opportunities for affirming, embodied change whilst actuating pathways toward communal consciousness and care.  

Drawing on participants’ lived expertise, I fuse literature and somatosensory therapies with narrative frameworks to tend to experiences of trauma recovery, relational instability, identity shifts, occupational stress, self-esteem complexities, grief/loss, and more. Complementing my therapeutic approach is my candid, collaborative, and compassionate therapeutic style that nourishes attuned spaces for experiential immersion beyond diagnosis, disruption of systemic/structural conditioning, and the mending of mind-body disconnections nestling liberating futures in their folds.

Beyond my professional practice, I nourish myself through reading, hiking, and hobbying as a violinist.
